Dear Jim,
I am writing this as an unsolicited letter of recommendation for your company. Due to the exceptional level of service and quality of work that Phil Renzi and Chris O'Korn have provided over the last several months, I feel compelled to acknowledge them in writing.
From the start of this project AirCare, and Phil and Chris specifically have maintained a level of professionalism that is unrivaled, not only in the HVAC industry, but in the Construction industry as a whole. Phil's responsiveness to our request for quotations and documentation was remarkable given the time frame and scope of work. I'm sure the amount of time that was required to put the information together was quite substantial, yet, never once did we hear Phil say "I need more time". The information that was given to our governing authority impressed them to the point where all they could say was "Wow! You have done all this since the inspection? "From that instance on they knew we were on top of things and gave us the breathing room we needed to get the job done.
I have coordinated every aspect of construction within the walls of this hospital and have Spent much of my own time here supervising sub-contractor crews because I didn't have the level of confidence in them that I needed to leave the hospital and go home and get a good nights' sleep. We have several one or two man crews that can work in this hospital virtually unsupervised during regular and off hours. I never thought I would be able to leave a l5 or 20 man crew working in the hospital unsupervised. Your crew proved me wrong. After staying on site for the first several nights of work it was apparent to me that we were in good hands. From then on I remained available by cell phone and received only two calls in 3 months.
Your on-site supervisor, Chris O 'Korn, is to be commended for an excellent job. He was able to satisfy the Facility Department's requirements along with a highly sensitive Infection Control Department's requirements which allowed AirCare to work in occupied areas of the hospital. Chris' communication and coordination skills were exemplary. He was able to find, on his own, the people he needed to talk to and notify about the work he needed to perform and made sure I was aware of, and approved his schedule at the same time. I must say he was very smart and went to the unit coordinators and nurses as well as the directors and department heads, because the nurses were the people his work would impact and they were very appreciative and therefore, very cooperative. All of the members of the crew were very courteous and polite to everyone they encountered.
Phil has done an excellent job with post project documentation. Typically we need to hound contractors to get, as builts, project closeouts or maintenance manuals. Phil was able to turn these documents around almost immediately so we could forward them to the inspectors.
